About ICCC

The ICCC is a sister Center of the International Center for Cooperation and Conflict Resolution at Teachers College, Columbia University, and is hosted by the Warsaw School for Social Psychology in Poland (Szkoła Wyższa Psychologii Społecznej).

In the Center, we work on applying complexity sciences to the study of conflict.

We recognize that human interaction as well as exchange of ideas are critical for the development of new avenues in sciences. We have created a common platform to bring together scientists from such diverse fields as psychology, physics, anthropology, biology, mathematics, international relations and informatics to collaborate in cross-disciplinary, international teams and advance the understanding of one of the major challenges for the social field: protracted, seemingly intractable conflicts.

The ICCC is also strongly committed to the application and rigorous testing of emerging new ideas. We integrate theoretical and empirical work using laboratory studies, computer simulations and network analyses as research approaches. We are also developing knowledge and practice to promote education, using new tools based on computer visualizations and simulations for our pedagogy.
